Racing is such a growing sport, it has become a worldwide phenomenon. One thing that racing as a sport has always portrayed is boding some of the most loyal fans in the business. Personally, I myself could do without it, but my husband on the other hand is very involved in following the sport. Along with my husband, my best friend and her spouse are avid fans as well. Not long ago, they went off to Bristol, Tennessee with packing only a tent, an air mattress and just a few bots of racing supplies. Luckily, I also got to tag along!
Not to appear to be putting racing down, however to me it is simply not that interesting. The race cars certainly go fast, and they are equally as noisy. To me, other than that they are driving in circles and I just do not see the adventure in it. I do enjoy observing a wreck from time to time, but who wishes to see someone potentially become injured?
Regardless of my ranting about the sport, I still went ahead with going on the trip. One thing, although it may seem silly that did turn my curiosity about attending, was that I would be using an air mattress. I was not one for sleeping on the ground and a camper I surely am not. This air mattress was sure to help make my evenings cozy.
Although the racing aspect of the trip was of no interest to me personally, I did really enjoy my trip to Bristol, Tennessee. In fact, that air mattress selling point really did it for me. Helen was my friend on the trip, and she and I looked on while our spouses had a bit of struggle with the tent assembly. Next, it was on to blowing up the air mattress. I just assumed they would fill it up half way, and they assured me they would be filling it to the full capacity and for me not to worry. They were unsure as to why I would suggest only filling it half way and I just asked my friend Helen to grab her camera and just watch.
photo credit: mr_t_77As promised, the males did fill the mattress the entire way. Of course, they did this while the mattress was sitting outside of the tent. Now my next question was going to be how will they get the queen sized mattress that is completely full inside the tent? The two men simply shook their heads in foolishness and went on trying to squeeze it in. Thankfully, they did fit it inside the tent! That day, the race for me may not have been the most exciting part of my day, but watching that air mattress get inside the tent sure was! The lesson to be learned here was to use an air mattress as they certainly are comfortable and worth the money. Just do not fill it all the way until you are sure it will fit in the space you intend to use it in.
